New Year, New Wardrobe
I don’t wait until the new year to clean out my closet, but it is a good time for a fresh start. So this blog post is all about how I get rid of the old to make room for the new. If you aren’t inspired by what’s in it or just want a revamp, go through your closet and ask yourself two questions.
Have you worn it in the last year?
Do you even like it?
You don’t have to make a complicated chart or ask yourself a ton of questions about fit, condition, or style. That kind of actually makes the process a lot more dreadful and nothing ends up getting done. If you haven’t worn it in the past 12 months and you don’t like it, put it in a pile. These clothes will be donated or sold. If you haven’t worn it but you like it, keep it. Get where I’m going with this? Basically, if the answer t the second question is no, it’s outta here. I do keep a lot of clothes for sentimental reasons (like my prom dress..don’t judge :)) or I’m waiting on the perfect moment to wear it. Nothing wrong with that just don’t make an excuse to keep every single piece haha.
For those items that end up in the pile, classify by those that you will sell, donate, or toss. If anything is torn, worn out, or stained, toss it. Very rarely will you be able to find a buyer and it wouldn’t be nice to donate something in bad condition. Items that were pricer or never used, try to resell to Plato’s Closet (used items) or on Poshmark (new or pricer items). The best part about Poshmark is that you know exactly how much you will make after the sale and you can get the money deposited straight to your bank account without extra charges.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday!
