A Blogger’s Nightmare
I know this is a completely random post BUT one that needs to be shared. If anyone (not only a blogger) has to recover iPhoto, hope this post helps. Let me give you a little background and how it came about OR skip to last paragraph for instructions :).
Every morning, I send myself the photo for that day’s post. On Thursday, I was about to do just that when my iPhoto “unexpectedly quit.” OK, no big deal just click reopen. iPhoto opens up again and all my October albums are empty. So, I close it and open it back again. Still nothing. My heart starts to beat a little faster and my mind starts going a million miles a minute. Are they really gone? Should I go to the Apple Store? They surely will find the pictures. What if they can’t find them? How am I going to post today? What about tomorrow? When does Apple close? It’s 7:15am and I’m probably going to be late for work. Mom is asking if I’m still going to work. Gotta leave NOW. I run out the door, take a screenshot of blog post to use for Instagram, and worry all the way to work. Then, and don’t know why until then, I decided to Google “my iPhoto unexpectedly quit.” Clicked the first link and there was my answer!
Go to Finder
Click iPhoto and press control
Click Show Package Contents
Go to Masters folder
There are your photos!
This only works if the photos were imported successfully, though!
Hope you are never in this pickle! If you are, hope it helps to recover iPhoto!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!
