Mixing and Matching
I’m rarely ever brave enough to mix patterns…always scared to look a lil cray cray. I actually did not intend on mixing camo and leopard for this outfit. My first choice were the Tory Burch Millers, but when I went to change outfits, saw these flats and a lightbulb lit up! The outfit looked great in my head so we went with it. This combination may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I drank it all up. Totally obsessed with this #ootd for everyday wear. For the cooler months ahead, just switch out the shorts for denim and you’re good to go.
The trick to mixing patterns is to use a pattern that works a like neutral: leopard. It works with lace, denim, leather, matches all colors, and can be dressed up or down. Even florals and leopard match. This is why it works so well with camo, a pattern that is a little harder to work with. You will find some colors/fabrics it doesn’t match and it’s harder to dress up. To me, it is more casual and a way to make an outfit different. I like to wear black, blush, white, or nude (basically neutral outfits) with a camo statement piece, just like I did in this post. Now, I’ll probably throw in a little leopard in to the mix :). You never know what patterns will look good together until you try them out. So get to mixing and matching and see what you come up with!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Labor Day holiday!
