Product Collages with Canva
Canva has probably been on of the most helpful blogging tools I’ve learned about. It’s used every week to create the collage for my Wednesday post. It’s free and super user friendly.
Here are the steps I follow to create the collages:
Screenshot the Images You want to Include
White backgrounds work best for the esthetic of the collage. If a store doesn’t have a white background, try Googling the item to see if any images with a white background pop up. Save all the images in a folder.
Go to Canva
Select the Poster Design, click uploads on the left tool bar, click upload your own images, select all the images in your folder and open them.
Place Your Images on the Poster
All your images will be right below where it says Upload Your Own Images. From there, just click on them and arrange on poster.
Add Text
Once everything is in place, start adding text. For the title of the collage, I use the subheading option. For the rest, I use body text.
Add Arrows
I like to use arrows to make sure you know what items are being described. Go to elements, lines, and click your favorite option. This will place it on the poster and you can move it around, change the color, and resize.
Save Your Image
Click download in the upper right hand corner, select JPG, and download. Once download is complete, save the image to your computer. This is the image I use on the blog post.
Prepare Image for Instagram
Go to Canva and select the Social Media Design to prepare the image for IG. Go to uploads, Upload Your Own Images, select the Poster Design you originally created, click to place it in the design, resize accordingly, and download in JPG format. This is the image for Instagram.
That’s it! Super easy and simple. The only hard part, or should I say time-consuming part, is selecting the items you want to use. Once that’s complete, it’s easy breezy.
Hope this helps all of you who had questions about how to make collages :).
